What is the relationship of Australian prehospital care and public health?

Description
The recent discussion paper jointly authored by UK Public Health England and Association of Ambulance Chief Executive's report 'Developing a Public Health Approach within the Ambulance Sector' presents an early conceptualisation and documentation of various prehospital public health activities. What remains largely unknown is what, if any, how Australian ambulance services view their role in public health service delivery. This project will utilise public health approaches and principles to focus on the role of prehospital care and its workforce in prevention and promotion activities.
