Description
There is inequitable access to early medical abortion in Australia. General Practitioners (GPs) are key primary care providers of sexual and reproductive health care in the Australian community, with an increasing role for other practitioners such as Nurse Practitioners and Endorsed Midwives. Through interviews and/or surveys of clinicians this research seeks to understand the impact on prescribing of medications for medical abortion in Australia of the removal in 2023 of the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA) restrictions on prescribing these medications.
