Description
Quality of life and mood symptoms are only partially related: research has typically shown moderate correlations between these variables. Indeed, people assessed to be in clinical remission from a mood episode often report persistent quality of life deficits. To improve the ability of current and future treatments to improve quality of life, we need to advance understanding of the diverse range of factors which influence quality of life. Students will have access to datasets from existing clinical trials, and may conduct quantitative analyses of the relationships between quality of life and psychosocial variables such as self-compassion, self-efficacy, recovery, functioning, and mood symptoms. This data could be used as the foundation for a future student-led survey, experimental study, or clinical research project.
