Progression of laparoscopic simulation instrument metrics over time

Description
Over the last 5 years Monash Children's Simulation has been conducting a virtual surgical training project (PIVOTS - Pacific Islands Virtual Online Training in Surgery) with Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. This is addition to the national programme (MOST - Monash Online Surgical Training). In these programmes 400 participants have completed the programmes with system generated feedback for the movement of their laparoscopic instruments to guide their self-directed learning. The project is the analysis of this data for trends and associations with the different core and advanced laparoscopic tasks to help guide their utilisation in future laparoscopic surgery programmes. This is a unique project that will be a world 1st for this type of technology in training.
