Description
Access to palliative care can be more challenging in rural compared with metropolitan areas. Multiple research priorities exist, including:
* better understanding of access to palliative and end of life care in rural settings including institutional and community-based care and access to after-hours care.
* workforce issues, access to anticipatory medication in the community-based settings, and the role of the multidisciplinary team and other professionals including General Practitioners and pharmacists.
Research projects focussed on all people receiving palliative care and particular patient subgroups (e.g. cancer) are of interest.
