Paediatric patients in an adult ED

Description 
To describe the epidemiology, presenting complaints and diagnoses of pediatric patients that present to an adult ED. The overarching aim is to investigate whether such presentations can be adequately managed or further steps taken to divert them to a paediatric ED. This project will involve: 1. Identification of all paediatric patients that presented to The Alfred E&TC over a 5-year period. 2. Extracting data on demographics and presenting complaints. 3. Extracting data on management and disposition. 4. Assessing completeness of care.
