Investigating S-Pumps in Gram-positive bacteria

Description 
This project will structurally and functionally characterise the S-Pumps found in Clostridioides difficile, Bacillus solimangrovi, and Paenibacillus polymyxa. S-Pumps are a novel secretion system likely embedded within the surface layer (S-layer) of Gram-positive bacteria in order to secrete toxins and/or remove antimicrobial agents that were intended to kill them.
