The impact of BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) genetic status on mental health following traumatic brain injury

Description
There is evidence to suggest that the val66met polymorhpism in the BDNF gene can impact mental health - particularly anxiety and depression. This association has not been well studied in traumatic brain injury samples. This study will involve using existing data sets of genetic status and psychiatric status to examine whether there is an association between carriage of the met allele and mental health following brain injury.
