Food is the way to my heart: The diet-gut-heart axis

Description
This project aims to investigate how dietary patterns influence gut physiology and, in turn, shape cardiovascular health. Emerging evidence suggests that the gut acts as a key mediator between what we eat and systemic processes linked to cardiovascular disease, including inflammation, lipid regulation, and metabolic function. By integrating nutritional assessment with gut health, metabolic phenotyping, and cardiovascular risk markers, this research will explore the mechanisms through which diet-driven changes in the gut environment contribute to cardiovascular outcomes. The project offers opportunities to employ advanced analytical approaches to generate insights that could inform targeted dietary interventions for improving long‑term cardiovascular health.
