Exploring potential impacts of climate change on healthy ageing

Description
This project is based in the National Centre for Healthy Ageing, a partnership between Monash University and Peninsula Health. There will be opportunities to conduct qualitative studies (e.g. via focus groups) through via our consumer engagement network, and/or quantitative analysis utilising the leading-edge Healthy Ageing Data Platform (https://www.monash.edu/medicine/national-centre-for-healthy-ageing/data-platform). This platform houses high-quality curated linked data regarding health, aged care, social and environmental factors for people living in the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula region. For example, electronic health records include de-identified hospital admissions, emergency department presentations and outpatient records. Environmental data will include meteorological data, air pollution and greenery. There will be opportunities to examine how climate-related environmental factors and events are associated with prevalence and incidence of a variety of diseases and health conditions related to ageing.
