Drivers of increasing ambulance demand among people aged less than 60 years

Description
In Australia and around the world, demand for ambulance services is growing annually. Understanding the drivers of increasing demand is useful in informing demand management strategies. A recent study conducted in Victoria reported the incidence of ambulance utilisation among patients aged <60 years to grow significantly over an 8-year period, exceeding population growth and indicating that this age group may be a key driver of increasing demand. However, the characteristics of patients within this cohort warrants further investigation. This project will examine the long-term drivers of increasing ambulance demand in patients aged <60 years, including the influence of both patient-level and clinical factors.
