Does timing matter? Investigating eating patterns in people with depression

Description
While the relationship between diet and mental health is increasingly recognised, the role of everyday eating patterns in influencing mood remains poorly understood. Beyond what people eat, emerging evidence suggests that when and how frequently people eat may also contribute to depressive symptoms. In collaboration with Deakin University, this study will investigate whether eating frequency is associated with mood in people with major depressive disorder using 7-day food records collected during a clinical dietary trial. This research will provide new insights into the potential role of eating patterns in mental health and may help inform future dietary approaches for the management of depression.
