The Digital Library of Healthcare Consultations

Description
The Digital Library of Healthcare Consultations contains recordings of real-life healthcare consultations. Currently, we have an existing library of approximately 50 general practice consultations and will have a growing collection from healthcare settings as well as simulation teaching environments. We are also interested in telehealth consultations, a growing area of medical practice. The possibilities for research based on this data collection are endless. We can use these recordings to explore more about how clinicians and patients interact in real consultations. Research questions about verbal and non-verbal communication are potential options, plus questions about how clinicians deal with specific clinical topics. Our research team is a hybrid working group with our time split between the Peninsula campus and offsite work. You will have the opportunity to develop diverse research skills such as: - data collection, including videos in clinical and teaching settings - data analysis, including analysing the videos with methods that are relevant to the research question - oral and writing presentation skills We are able to tailor your research project to ensure you obtain the skills that you need. Our team of investigators have a diverse set of skills and many are clinician-researchers. We welcome discussions on your research interests related to healthcare communication and effectiveness. This project is hosted by the Equity, Primary care, Implementation and Community (EPIC) Research Unit. We empower community organisations and researchers to work together to improve equity and quality of primary care. We are a team of primary care researchers who are experts in real-world implementation and translation of evidence-based innovations into policy and practice.
