Development and relative validation of Intake24 for Malaysia

Description
Intake24 is an open-source self-completed online dietary assessment system based on multiple-pass 24-hour recall. The project is a collaboration between Monash University Malaysia, Monash University Australia, and the University of Cambridge. First developed for the Food Standards Scotland, and now used in the UK government’s National Diet & Nutrition Survey and the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ Intergenerational Health & Mental Health Survey, the system has been adapted for several other countries including; Portugal, Denmark, and the United Arab Emirates. You will be a part of this project that adapts and validates the system for use in Malaysia. Specifically, you will be involved in the integration of Malaysian foods linked with local food composition data and food portion size images, followed by large-scale testing of the system against interviewer-led 24hr recalls in the Malaysian population. Candidates can be expected to be stationed at Monash University Malaysia’s main campus in Bandar Sunway and travel to research sites when required. Expectation: • A first-class honours bachelor’s or a master’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, community health, public health or closely-related fields from a recognised university. • Have experience with food composition databases. • Have a good statistical background (e.g. SPSS). • Meet the University/Faculty’s postgraduate entry and English language proficiency criteria. • Have a good command of one of the local languages - Malay, Mandarin or Tamil. • Enthusiastic, responsible, proactive, and well-developed communication skills.
