Changes in glymphatic drainage post stroke

Description
The glymphatics system is important in clearing toxic waste from the central nervous system. This can be analysed by examing the diffusion (diffusion tensor imaging or DTI) along the perivascular space. There are many advantages of this approach in ischaemic stroke, namely it avoids the use of contrast and the potential contrast toxicity in patients with renal failure. This is possible as DTI data was collected in amnion cell trial (ACT-1) at 4 separate time points (day 0, day 7, day 30 and day 365) for each patient. This will be analysed using MATLAB programming language. Findings from the study will aid in further understanding of the role glymphatics in ischaemic stroke. Informtion on the amnion cell trial can be found at https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/neuroscience/articles/10.3389/fnins.2023.1153231/full
