Association between medical comorbidities and the management of burn injuries

Description
The Australian and New Zealand Burns Association have identified that burns in people with pre-existing medical disorders that could complicate management, prolong recovery, or increase mortality require treatment in a specialised burns unit. This study will use data collected by the Burns Registry of Australia and New Zealand (BRANZ) to investigate the profile of patients with prominent medical comorbidities (e.g., diabetes, cardiovascular disease, etc.) and how these patients are managed once admitted to hospital.
