Adolescent Experiences of Reproductive Coercion: A Qualitative Study

Description
This project will explore adolescent’s and young people’s lived experiences of reproductive coercion (RC) through in-depth qualitative interviews. The study will examine how young people describe coercion from others such as intimate partners, parents, and healthcare providers and how they navigate or resist these pressures. The analysis will capture the nuances of adolescent perspectives on reproductive autonomy and relationships. Findings will contribute to a deeper understanding of RC in adolescence and inform policy and practice to better support young people. This project sits within SPHERE, an NHMRC-funded Centre of Research Excellence in Sexual and Reproductive Health for Women in Primary Care. SPHERE is led by Professor Danielle Mazza and supported by multidisciplinary students and researchers in the Department of General Practice. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of this team with support from supervisors.
