The effect of night shift work on gut health

Description
Night shift workers experience a high prevalence of functional gut disorders than their day-working counterparts. The aim of this project is to explore i) the potential mechanisms behind this higher prevalence, ii) track changes in gut health in new recruits to shift work and iii) investigate how the gut responds to meals at different times of the day. The project will involve a number of different approaches to data collection including the use of established data (e.g UK Biobank), survey data and clinical trials.
