Determining infract core and penumbra

Description
Traditionally, the ischemic penumbra has been analyses using volumetric approach. It is defined as perfusion deficit on Tmax minus infarct core defined by CBV or CBF on CT or MR perfusion. Information on neuroanatomy and vascular anatomy (https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/full/10.1161/STROKEAHA.123.046083) are not used in this approach. Here we propose a voxel-based approach (https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/full/10.1161/STROKEAHA.120.032867) to evaluate the ischemic penumbra taking into account non contrast CT in addition to CBV or CBF in to measure infarct core. The student will learn about image analysis, especially voxel-based analysis.
