Create and test a novel pump for patients with Fontan circulation in single ventricle congenital heart defects

Description
Patients born with a single functioning ventricle typically undergo a series of complex surgeries that ultimately lead to blood flow that bypasses one side of the heart. These lead to multiple complications resulting from venous hypertension and pulmonary hypotension. Ultimately, organ failure can occur. Despite decades of effort, there is still few solutions for these patients. In this project you will develop and test a minimally invasive pump to be used with these patients using soft robotics.
