A window into the MS brain (and spine): MRI's Evolving Role in Understanding MS

Description
MS is a neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative disorder affecting over 33000 people in Australia and 2.8 million worldwide. MRI provides a crucial role in diagnosis, decoding pathophysiology and monitoring disease. With the difficulties of obtaining brain (and spinal) tissue, MRI remains the most important tool in understanding the impact of MS on the central nervous system. Using structural and advanced MRI techniques, we aim to analyse the prognosis, impact of comorbidities and treatments on the brain and spine.
