Access to care for people with heart, lung, and complex health needs - Exploring new models and effective supports in under-served and rural populations.

Description
This research program focuses on improving access to care and developing better models of support for people living with chronic and palliative conditions, especially in rural communities. Current projects explore how care is delivered, how well existing models work, and how new approaches can be designed to overcome barriers in under-served populations, including using telehealth assisted models. This work includes: - Mapping and auditing service delivery - for example, analysing multi-site datasets, including electronic medical records. - Evaluating existing services - understanding what works well and where gaps remain. - Hearing from providers, workforce and consumers - through interviews and surveys to capture real-world experiences and ideas for change. - Developing new initiatives - co-designing and testing innovative models of care to better meet community needs. Students can be involved in any of these stages, from data analysis to qualitative research, contributing to practical solutions that improve equity in healthcare.
