Advancing Leadership Training in Public Health Education through Adaptive AI Simulations

Description
This project aims to bridge the leadership training gap in health professions education by leveraging adaptive AI technology to create a dynamic and authentic simulated learning environment. Leadership competencies are critical for health professionals, yet many enter leadership roles without the necessary skills, leading to challenges in team management and professional growth. To address this, we are developing AI-driven personas capable of simulating real-world leadership scenarios. Students will interact with these personas in a safe, controlled, and immersive online platform. The system will provide immediate, tailored feedback through AI-generated mentor reports, enabling students to reflect on their performance and refine their skills at their own pace. On this project, you will assist us in developing and refining the adaptive AI personas by integrating evidence-based leadership competencies into their design. You will work on training these personas to accurately simulate realistic and contextually relevant leadership challenges. Additionally, you will help in evaluating the effectiveness of the simulations and contribute to creating resources that will enhance both student and educator engagement with the platform. I welcome PhD, honours or short-term research placement students (e.g., PBH3006, BMS3990, or summer placements) to assist with these projects. The scope of your project, including co-supervisors, will be defined through a consultative process. I am looking forward to your participation and contributions.
