Identifying barriers to multi-centre trials in paediatric surgery and urology

Description
There remains a dearth of multi-centre trials in paediatric surgery and urology despite a wealth of important questions that remain unanswered by high-level evidence, and require a multi-centre approach due to the rarity of conditions. The reasons for this are multifold; and can be divided into general and regional factors. This study aims to explore and identify themes that act as barriers to development of high-impact research through a series of interviews with Paediatric Surgeons and Urologists across Australia and New Zealand. Successful candidates will develop their research skills by considering the fundamental research question. They will also enhance their ability to perform qualitative research, and have the opportunity to conduct interviews with surgeons across the region.
